The Path

This photo was taken behind the octagon house in the Hyde House Garden at the Genesee Country Museum. The garden was inspired by A.J. Downing’s Cottage Residences, published in 1842. This shot is so playful! It reminds me of those carefree days of childhood. I can see running down the path and playing in the little shed in the back. I can see sitting on the bench under the tree as I take a break. I’m also reminded a little bit of the Yellow Brick Road from The Wizard of Oz!
